December Finals: a love poem

Humidifier, running.
Iowa state hoodie on, reheated coffee in hand.
Pizza, toaster strudels, Starbursts

All I can see when I close my eyes is Cherrie Moraga's
Loving in the War Years
All I want is to finish the first draft so I can watch
Sunday night TV OnDemand.

Taking too many Facebook breaks
And wondering what the outside world looks like.
I will miss this too.
